Description
The Fender Jazz Bass from 1965 is a true transition bass and a piece of history. It has a nitro Sunburst finish with a Tortoiseshell guard and an unbound rosewood fingerboard. The neck stamp is dated July 1965, but the rest of the parts indicate they were built in early/mid 1965, featuring Pre-CBS tuners, L-Plate, etc. The original pots, which are included but have been replaced, are dated the 20th week (May) of 1965.

This bass is 100% original with the exception of:
- New pots installed about 10 years ago as the neck pot quit functioning. The old pots are included and would just need to be rebuilt.
- The bass has had a fret job, although the exact year is unknown.
- The ashtrays are original replacements; the whereabouts of the originals are unknown.
The original paint is in good shape, and there are no cracks in the original pickguard, though it has the customary shrinkage. This bass is a player’s dream with “TONE FOR DAYS!”
