All parts original to the instrument to the best of our knowledge. Up for sale we have a 1973 Fender Jazz Bass in original Natural finish with original black Tolex hardshell case. Made in Fullerton, CA. 4-bolt Maple neck with blocks and binding. All parts original to the instrument to the best of our knowledge. The bass is in excellent used condition showing only moderate cosmetic wear with small dings and dents throughout as well as some finish checking (mostly on the backside of the body). Overall a great example of a 70’s Jazz Bass that has been loved and played over the years but not abused. F-plate with 397XXX Serial number. The bass features a 34″ scale length, solid Ash body with double cutaways, equipped with it’s original pair of Fender Jazz Bass single coil pickups with dual pole pieces for each string (eight total per pickup), each pickup has a dedicated volume control, master tone control, the three pot codes date to the 39th week of 1972, white 3-ply pickguard (w/b/w), “tug” bar, top loader stop tail bridge with four adjustable barrel saddles and retains it’s original “F” bridge cover and pickup cover. The Maple neck features a comfortable full “C” shape profile measuring .880″ deep at the first fret and .980″ deep at the twelfth fret. Maple fingerboard with 7.25″ radius, black binding, black block inlaid fret markers and 21 medium jumbo frets. Width at the nut measures 1 7/16″. The original frets are present and show very little visible play wear with tons of life left. Original Fender open gears tuning machines. The neck is straight and plays beautifully. The truss rod is accessible at the heel of the neck and functions as it should. The bass weighs in at 10 lbs. 14.5 oz. Set-up with 45-105 Flatwound strings and ready to go.
